Role overview
The business is looking for a seasoned Risk Manager for a major project in Saudi Arabia. This role calls for extensive experience handling risk in large infrastructure environments, with a strong preference for transport-sector megaproject exposure.
Key responsibilities
- Identify project risks early, including financial, operational, and safety-related threats.
- Assess risks using both quantitative and qualitative methods to understand their probability and impact.
- Create and put into action mitigation plans that reduce project exposure.
- Track risk status continuously and review whether control measures remain effective.
- Revise risk management plans whenever project conditions change.
- Prepare and deliver risk updates to stakeholders, including senior leaders and external partners.
- Apply risk practices in line with recognised standards and regulations such as ISO 31000 or AS4360.
- Train project team members on risk processes and practical best practices.
- Work closely with stakeholders to build a shared view of risks and response actions.
- Keep complete records of assessments, mitigation plans, monitoring logs, and related documentation.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant should bring deep experience in risk management for large-scale infrastructure or megaprojects, ideally within transportation. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, business administration, or a similar discipline is required, and an advanced degree is preferred. Strong command of both Arabic and English is necessary. Familiarity with Saudi Arabia’s regulatory and operating landscape is also important. A PMP or equivalent project management certification is expected.
