R&D Lab Technician (ICPMS/ GCMS)

About the Role

The R&D Lab Technician supports laboratory operations by handling equipment qualification, method transfer, analytical testing, and start-up activities. The position works alongside laboratory scientists, engineers, and other teams to build and expand lab capabilities that support research and development, new product introduction, and qualification testing.

This role reports to the R&D Supervisor and is part of the Global R&D organization in Singapore. It is an on-site position.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with laboratory start-up and readiness tasks, including equipment installation, connection, commissioning, qualification, and transfer of methods for both new and existing analytical instruments.
• Work closely with scientists and engineers to set up, qualify, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory and testing equipment used for R&D and new product launch work.
• Carry out analytical, functional, and performance testing to support product development, characterization, and qualification needs while maintaining quick sample turnaround and strong data quality.

Requirements

• Diploma in Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science, or another relevant technical field.
• At least 2 years of experience working in a laboratory setting.
• Background in an analytical or testing lab, preferably in R&D or product development.
• Hands-on experience operating ICP-MS, GC-MS, non-volatile residue testing, and ion chromatography.
• Added advantage: prior exposure to hazardous material handling and the associated rules for storage, transport, and disposal.
