Role Overview

As a QA Technician I, you will help keep Switch facilities clean, orderly, and ready for day-to-day operations, customer visits, and site tours. The position supports customer-facing spaces, operational areas, and critical infrastructure environments.

Key Duties

• Carry out routine janitorial work such as vacuuming, trash removal, general cleaning, and organizing rooms.
• Keep shared spaces, shipping and receiving areas, office zones, data floors, and operational areas clean.
• Dispose of waste items such as cardboard, foam, pallets, and similar materials in the correct way.
• Deep-clean spaces including mantraps, hallways, sectors, conference rooms, lounges, restrooms, and shipping areas.
• Place, maintain, and replace sticky mats throughout the building as needed.
• Make regular perimeter checks to spot cleanliness concerns or facility-related issues.
• Clean plenum spaces and other sensitive facility environments.
• Handle minor facility upkeep tasks, including replacing lights, tightening handles, and adjusting door hinges.
• Track supply levels and communicate when more materials are needed.
• Use basic warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts, when the job requires it.
• Represent the company professionally when working with employees and visitors.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable working independently and with a team, and able to maintain a professional, customer-first approach while following safety and material-handling procedures. Strong time management and consistent task completion are important.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some prior experience in janitorial, maintenance, or facilities-related work.
• Working knowledge of basic safety practices and cleaning supplies.
• Comfort using basic computer tools, including email and internal communication systems.
• Valid driver’s license issued by the state.
• Reliable transportation to the job location.

Preferred Background

• Experience in a data center, industrial site, or facilities environment.
• Experience using warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts.
