Role overview

A private household in Dubai is looking for a capable full-time Governess / Home Educator to guide the learning and development of two girls aged 10 and 13. The role is live-in and the start date is flexible for the right candidate.

The position focuses on delivering a UK curriculum homeschooling programme while also helping the children grow in confidence, independence, organisation, academic performance, and overall intellectual curiosity. This is intended as a long-term opportunity for a warm, professional, and well-organised educator who can bring structure, motivation, and a positive example within the home.

Key responsibilities

• Teach the children on a daily basis using the UK National Curriculum.
• Create, organise, and maintain a clear learning plan for both children.
• Support core academic areas, with particular attention to English and Mathematics.
• Track progress and share regular updates with the family.
• Encourage reading, analytical thinking, self-directed learning, and curiosity.
• Help build effective study routines, time management, and personal organisation.
• Prepare the children for future academic stages, including readiness for IGCSE where appropriate.
• Liaise with specialist tutors or outside education providers when needed.
• Support the children’s personal growth, confidence, and positive behaviour.
• Travel occasionally with the family and ensure learning continues smoothly during trips.

Requirements

• Female applicant.
• Native-level or near-native English speaker.
• Educated to degree level.
• Teaching qualification is preferred.
• At least 5 years of teaching experience.
• Strong familiarity with the UK National Curriculum.
• Experience teaching children between 10 and 14 years old.
• Strong command of English and Mathematics instruction.
• Valid driving licence.
• Professional, discreet, proactive, and highly organised.
• Comfortable working independently in a private household setting.
• Previous homeschooling experience preferred.
• Experience in private family or UHNW households preferred.
• Experience teaching Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 preferred.
• Experience preparing students for the IGCSE pathway preferred.
• First aid certification preferred.
• Warm, nurturing, patient, and firm when needed.
• Able to work in a structured and self-directed manner.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Positive role model with a long-term mindset.
• Capable of creating a calm, engaging, and productive learning environment.

• AED 18,000 to 20,000 per month.
