Role Overview
Ecolab is hiring a Pest Control Technician Trainee for its Allentown, Pennsylvania territory. This field-based opportunity is centered on protecting public health, food safety, and commercial properties by delivering science-led pest elimination services. The role includes structured paid training and a pathway to develop into future positions in service, sales, or management.
A sign-on bonus of $2,000 is offered for this role.
What You Will Do
- Join a 5-week paid training program covering pest identification, control methods, and prevention practices.
- Build strong working relationships with commercial clients, including businesses in hospitality and food service.
- Work with customers to identify pest issues and recommend practical prevention and elimination approaches.
- Develop knowledge of the company’s products and services to support both service delivery and sales conversations.
- Record structural concerns, sanitation issues, and pest activity using handheld digital equipment.
- Provide prompt, efficient, and high-quality service while working under supervision.
- Complete any pest control licensing or certification needed under state or local rules.
Job Details
- Location: Allentown, PA
- Service territory: Allentown, Lebanon, Pottsville, and Northampton
- Work schedule: Day shift from 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with weekend rotation
- Training travel: One week of training in Eagan, Minnesota during the training period
- Candidates must be able to fly with proper identification such as Real ID or another acceptable form of ID

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or an equivalent credential.
- At least 2 years of work experience or military experience.
- A current, valid driver’s license without restrictions.
- Willingness to work overnight shifts and be available on-call during off-hours and weekends when required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older because of the nature and hours of the job.
- Ability to obtain pest certification and/or business licensing as required by state or local law.
- Offer is contingent on passing a background check.
- Offer is also contingent on a drug test, including THC, due to federal contract requirements.
- Immigration sponsorship is not available.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds at chest level.
- Comfortable wearing and using a respirator.
- Able to work in confined spaces, damp or dusty environments, and extreme temperatures.
- Must be able to climb ladders and perform physically demanding tasks such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and standing for long periods.
- Ability to drive a company vehicle when needed, with ongoing motor vehicle record checks.
Preferred Background
- Prior experience in customer service.
- Experience selling value-added products to existing customers.
- Previous pest elimination or route service experience is an advantage.
Compensation and Benefits
The total compensation for this role is $48,700 to $73,000 annually, including base pay and target incentive based on performance after completion of the paid training program. Compensation may vary based on experience, education, training, geography, and other relevant factors. Minimum wage and overtime laws are followed.
