About the Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this position is responsible for running payroll on weekly, fortnightly and monthly cycles for both wage and salary employees under the Waste Management Award and Clerks Award. The role partners closely with General Managers, Operational Managers, Finance and HR to ensure payroll is accurate, compliant and completed on schedule.
Key Duties
- Handle payroll from start to finish across several business entities.
- Administer weekly, fortnightly and monthly pay runs.
- Process payroll using Employment Hero Payroll, also referred to as PayCat or KeyPay.
- Apply Modern Awards correctly, including the Waste Management and Clerks Awards.
- Check the accuracy of timesheets produced through NoahFace.
- Manage leave entitlements, terminations and final pay calculations.
- Oversee superannuation, PAYG and payroll compliance reporting obligations.
- Complete reconciliations and respond to payroll-related questions.
- Keep employee records up to date and ensure payroll data remains accurate.
- Assist with audits and reporting tasks as required.
- Provide ad hoc administrative support to the Finance team.

Selection Criteria
- Experience with Employment Hero, PayCat or KeyPay payroll systems is preferred.
- Ability to manage several payroll cycles at once.
- Strong knowledge of award interpretation and payroll compliance.
- High level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
- Professional judgment and discretion when dealing with confidential information.
- Willingness to work full-time onsite in a collaborative office setting.
- Background in waste management, transport, logistics, or blue-collar payroll/finance environments will be viewed favourably.
