Role overview
Because the payroll function is expanding, the team is looking for a skilled and detail-focused Payroll Officer to join the Maroochydore head office. This position reports to the Group Payroll Manager and is responsible for complete payroll processing across a varied portfolio of hotel properties in Australia and New Zealand.
The role is essential in making sure employees are paid correctly and on schedule, while also helping the business stay aligned with applicable payroll laws and compliance requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Handle payroll from start to finish for a large, multi-location workforce
- Keep employee information accurate and aligned with awards and enterprise agreements
- Compile, reconcile, and prepare payroll reports and journals
- Manage payroll-related questions promptly and professionally
- Work with internal teams and outside agencies when needed
- Support payroll improvement initiatives and related projects
What you need
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience managing end-to-end payroll
- Sound knowledge of Australian payroll law, awards, and EBAs
- Practical experience with payroll platforms such as Chris21, Micropay, or similar software
- Strong accuracy and numeracy skills
- Clear communication and good problem-solving ability
- Comfort working both independently and collaboratively
