OpenShift Virtualization (OCP-V) Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced OpenShift Virtualization Engineer to support and improve enterprise virtualization workloads on Red Hat OpenShift. This position focuses on keeping critical platforms stable, performant, and secure while handling complex infrastructure challenges across OpenShift-based environments. It is a long-term deployment opportunity for someone who can make a meaningful contribution from day one.

What you will handle

• Set up, configure, administer, and maintain OpenShift Virtualization environments.
• Manage virtual machines and the workloads that run on OpenShift clusters.
• Carry out installations, upgrades, patching, and end-to-end lifecycle activities for OpenShift clusters.
• Track platform health, performance, capacity, and uptime, and act early on risks or degradation.
• Investigate and fix issues related to infrastructure, networking, storage, and virtualization.
• Work with infrastructure and application teams to support workload migration and deployment.
• Apply security practices and ensure alignment with internal and industry standards.
• Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to protect business continuity.
• Prepare and keep up-to-date operational documents, deployment references, and SOPs.
• Provide support during scheduled maintenance and respond to production incidents when needed.

Core responsibilities

• Maintain high availability and strong performance across OCP-V environments.
• Improve virtualization infrastructure and operational processes over time.
• Serve as an internal expert for OpenShift Virtualization.
• Partner effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver stable outcomes.

Requirements

• B.Tech or B.E. in any specialization.
• Hands-on experience in Linux administration.
• Strong working knowledge of OpenShift platform administration.
• Practical exposure to OpenShift Virtualization and VM operations.
• Understanding of Kubernetes and cluster administration.
• Knowledge of OpenShift networking concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Good communication skills and willingness to travel.

Preferred skills

• Experience with VMware.
• Exposure to Ansible.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms.
• Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Additional information

This is a full-time opportunity based in Pune, India. Compensation is listed at INR 8,00,000 to INR 16,00,000 per year. The role is suitable for candidates who can work in an enterprise support and deployment environment and contribute to long-term platform reliability and improvement.
