About the Role
Heritage Grocers Group, through El Rancho Supermercado, is looking for a Kitchen Clerk to support the kitchen team with food preparation and cooking tasks. The role is part of a workplace culture centered on integrity, respect, and teamwork, with an emphasis on helping employees grow personally, professionally, and financially while contributing to the local community.
What You’ll Do
- Help cooks, bakers, and other team members with preparing and cooking food items.
- Prepare salsa and other side dishes served with menu entrees.
- Clean dishes and maintain kitchen sanitation.
- Keep stoves and cooking stations ready for use.
- Make sure products are labeled and signed correctly.
- Clean and restock dining tables so they remain presentable and ready for customers.
- Offer samples to shoppers and support suggestive selling efforts.
- Take on other duties as needed.
What We’re Looking For
Applicants should have a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification, along with basic kitchen know-how and familiarity with food preparation. Being fluent in both English and Spanish is required. The job also calls for the ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for handling tools or equipment during the workday.
Work Conditions
This position involves regular use of close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The environment is similar to an office and retail store setting, with noise levels that can vary from quiet to loud. Candidates must be able to drive and remain flexible to travel to any company location when needed. Physical requirements include lifting up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally. Work schedules vary based on business needs, including price-change work, and may begin at midnight.
