Job Overview

Findlay Foods (Kingston) Ltd is seeking a dedicated Janitor to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of our Kingston, Ontario facility. This is a full-time, onsite position requiring the ability to work in various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing floors and staircases.
• Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and refuse.
• Dispose of trash and waste from containers.
• Coordinate with contractors for necessary repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain indoor plants and outdoor grounds, including watering and tending to lawns and gardens.
• Thoroughly clean and disinfect all bathroom facilities and fixtures.
• Manage snow and ice removal from walkways and parking areas.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• No specific degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
• Previous cleaning experience is advantageous.
• Familiarity with operating industrial vacuum cleaners, power sweepers, polishing machines, power lawn mowers, small tractors with attachments, and snowblowers is a plus.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and work in a bending, crouching, and kneeling capacity.
• Must possess steel-toed safety boots.
• Demonstrated dependability, initiative, organization, and reliability.

Eligibility

This role is open to individuals who are dependable, organized, reliable, and can take initiative. Previous experience in cleaning is beneficial but not mandatory. Candidates must be able to work onsite in Kingston, Ontario.
