IT Operations, Cloud Infrastructure Lead

Role overview

This position is responsible for providing senior-level technical direction and governance across the full infrastructure environment. The role focuses on keeping the technology stack stable, available, and aligned with business needs.

Infrastructure leadership

• Oversee the organisation’s data centre environment, including both physical and virtual server platforms.
• Manage core infrastructure components such as VMWare, Hyper-V, storage systems, and cloud services.
• Provide guidance to technical teams to ensure infrastructure operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Operational monitoring and support

• Work with technical teams to continuously monitor IT services and respond early to potential issues.
• Ensure timely technical support is provided to avoid service interruptions.
• Track infrastructure requests and incidents and drive them to resolution within defined SLA targets.

Maintenance and vendor coordination

• Oversee regular maintenance activities, housekeeping tasks, and hardware replacements.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for maintenance and support-related activities.
• Support continuity planning and direct disaster recovery site operations when required.

Technical expertise

• Strong experience in hybrid infrastructure management, including physical and virtual server environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of storage area networks and backup and recovery platforms such as Commvault and Azure Backup Vault.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and data centre operations.

Experience and certifications

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required.
• ITIL v4 is preferred as a functional certification.
• Relevant technical certifications include MCSE, VCP, and Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
