Role Summary
The Inventory Controller is a full-time, on-site position in Port Moresby, National Capital District, Papua New Guinea. The job focuses on keeping stock and inventory records accurate and up to date. This includes receiving items, issuing stock, reconciling physical counts against system records, tracking inventory levels, preparing stock reports, and investigating any differences or irregularities. The role also supports procurement and operations teams to ensure timely replenishment, proper storage, compliance with procedures, and ongoing improvements in inventory control practices.
Key Duties
Core work in this role includes monitoring inventory movement, maintaining database records, and ensuring that all stock transactions are properly documented. The Inventory Controller will prepare routine reports, highlight discrepancies for action, coordinate replenishment with relevant teams, and assist with audits and process improvements.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience in inventory, warehouse, or logistics operations, preferably in a government or regulated setting.
- Good command of stock control, stock management, and inventory control practices.
- Strong analytical ability to track inventory movement, identify variances, and interpret stock data.
- Clear communication skills for working with internal teams, reporting issues, and maintaining documentation.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with inventory or ERP systems.
- High attention to detail, strong numerical accuracy, and the ability to work independently while following established procedures.
- Commitment to integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
