Role Overview

This position is for a dependable Helper based in Sarnia, Ontario. The role suits someone with relevant hands-on experience who is looking for growth opportunities within an organization that supports advancement.

Job Summary

The Helper supports railcar preparation and coating activities. Core duties include applying decals to railcars, preparing tank and hopper car interiors for coating, masking surfaces for exterior paint work, holding paint lines during coating application inside tanks, and carrying out cleanup tasks.

The hourly wage for this position at the Sarnia Service Centre is $31.58.

Work Environment and General Duties

This type of work is typically repetitive and manual, often carried out at a workbench or along a conveyor line. Duties may include checking, sorting, packaging, labeling, pasting, trimming, tying, or similar tasks performed by hand or with machines. The role may also involve basic equipment adjustments, routine maintenance, cleaning, and moving assemblies or machinery as needed.

The position usually involves close supervision and is commonly associated with roles such as General Labor, Machine Operator, Maker/Packer, Assembler, and Line Operator.

Requirements

• You must be legally allowed to work in Canada.
• You should be able to read, write, speak, and understand English clearly.
• Reliable transportation to work is required, along with a valid driver’s license.
• You need to follow Procor’s safety rules, including Responsible Care expectations, and use all required protective equipment correctly.
• You should be comfortable keeping your work area clean and orderly while handling manual, repetitive tasks.
• The job involves working at heights, in confined areas, around machinery, and in environments with loud noise and fumes.
• You must be able to work both with a team and independently when needed.
• You should complete work quickly while still maintaining accuracy.
• Hands-on use of a variety of hand tools is part of the role.
• Attention to detail and a strong focus on quality are important.
