Role overview
Deutsche Zeppelin-Reederei GmbH is hiring a Ground Crew Member for its Friedrichshafen location. The position is offered in an active/passive working-time model and is permanent.
What you will do
- Support the Zeppelin NT before and after each flight, including refuelling, helium filling, operating the mast vehicle, and helping passengers board and disembark safely.
- Monitor onboard systems from the cockpit while the airship is parked at the mooring mast.
- Perform maintenance tasks on ground equipment and escort vehicles on days when there are no flights.
- Accompany the airship on tour for sports and trade fair events in Germany and abroad.
- Take part in training opportunities, including the possibility of obtaining a truck driving licence and ADR certification.
What you should bring
- An ideally completed vocational qualification in a technical or trade-related field.
- Practical technical knowledge and strong manual skills.
- Good physical condition and no issues with working at height, including work on a 12-metre mooring mast.
- A safety-first mindset, with the ability to work independently and responsibly, plus reliability, teamwork, and resilience.
- A valid category B driving licence; category C/CE would be an advantage.
- Willingness and suitability to work shifts, weekends, and on tour.
Working time and pay
The role follows an active/passive work-time arrangement.
- Active period: April to October, full-time.
- Passive period: November to March, time off.
- Pay is based on a full-time annual gross salary of EUR 36,000 to EUR 42,000. With the 65% part-time factor used in this model, the resulting annual gross pay is EUR 23,400 to EUR 27,300.
