Role overview

This is a full-time, in-office opportunity in Kolkata for a Founder's Office professional supporting the founders of a new beauty and personal care brand under Uptownie. The role sits at the center of the business and calls for someone who can work across functions, move quickly, and take direct ownership of important initiatives.

What you will do

You will partner closely with the founder on strategic and execution-heavy work, including business planning, tracking performance metrics, and driving action items across operations, marketing, merchandising, and customer experience. The position also includes improving internal processes, coordinating key partnerships, and supporting special projects such as launches and campaigns. Because many tasks will be time-sensitive, the role requires sound judgment, discretion, and a strong sense of accountability.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and turn numbers into practical recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare polished updates, presentations, and documents.
• Solid project management skills, including planning, prioritizing, juggling multiple tasks, and working with cross-functional teams.
• High ownership, dependability, and discretion when dealing with confidential information and sensitive projects.
• Comfort using productivity and collaboration tools such as spreadsheets, presentation tools, and project or communication platforms.
• Ability to perform well in ambiguous, fast-changing environments while learning quickly and taking initiative.
• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Fashion Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred; experience in startups, consulting, or a founder’s office role is an added advantage.
• Strong interest in fashion, consumer brands, and e-commerce, along with a detail-oriented and user-focused mindset.

Additional information

This role is based in Kolkata and requires onsite presence. Candidates must already have experience working with a BPC D2C brand. The position is designed for someone who enjoys variety, works well with limited structure, and can support high-priority work across the business.
