About the Role

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Financial Analyst focused on factory controlling in Hyderabad, India. Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate business results against approved budgets and forecasts, and explain key variances.
  • Track orders received, related gross margin, and monthly reporting outputs.
  • Reconcile order backlog and backlog gross margin figures.
  • Work closely with local factory, business, and hub controllers to interpret performance drivers, identify trends, and suggest improvements.
  • Investigate overhead under-absorption and over-absorption and determine root causes.
  • Handle result analysis and revenue recognition activities, including understanding point-in-time and over-time recognition and RA key logic in S/4HANA.
  • Use COPA tools such as KE24 and KE30 for product-level and customer-level profitability analysis.
  • Review monthly income statement performance versus budget and forecast before month-end closing and support review meetings.
  • Analyze balance sheet movements across periods, explain deviations, and advise controllers on corrective actions.
  • Prepare monthly MIS and corporate reporting in line with the corporate calendar.
  • Contribute to internal controls and SOX audit-related activities.
  • Compare monthly and quarterly MIS data against benchmarks and provide comments and observations.
  • Track capital expenditure budgets against actual spending on a monthly basis.
  • Analyze inventory and net working capital movements over time and explain changes.
  • Apply standard costing knowledge across make-to-order and make-to-stock scenarios.
  • Perform cash flow analysis using direct and indirect methods and identify gaps between them.
  • Support financial reporting, business planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
  • Assist statutory and internal audits by preparing audit schedules and related documentation.
  • Validate financial data and business reports through reconciliations and exception reviews.
  • Take on urgent ad hoc assignments as business needs require.
  • Improve productivity by building automated solutions, reducing duplicate effort, and aligning information requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize reports and processes across countries, divisions, and business units.
  • Meet Controlling Capability Center KPIs and contribute to continuous service improvement.
  • Follow all internal and external regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Work in line with Hitachi Energy values, with strong attention to safety and integrity.

Candidate Profile

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, along with CMA, CA, or MBA qualification.
  • Up to 6 years of experience in financial planning and analysis; manufacturing exposure is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a controlling COE setup will be an advantage.
  • Comfort working in an office-based environment with flexible day shifts.
  • Strong analytical thinking and independent problem-solving ability.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Practical knowledge of SAP FI/CO, including CO-PA, and familiarity with SD, PP, MM, and PS modules, especially MTO, MTS, and ETO structures.
