Job Purpose
The Facilities Engineer plays a key role in keeping assigned properties operating efficiently. This position focuses on solving complex technical problems, sustaining service standards, supporting Facilities Managers in budget control, producing accurate client reports, and coordinating on-site teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the technical and commercial delivery of one or more projects, ensuring strong outcomes.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and landscaping systems.
- Assess, refine, and apply maintenance plans, engineering standards, and workflow processes.
- Improve service delivery methods to raise operational efficiency.
- Prepare technical requirements and specifications for equipment and facility assets.
- Build and apply cost-saving measures and management control systems.
- Develop property-specific control systems that help maintain quality compliance.
- Review contractor and supplier performance, prepare improvement actions, and track follow-up.
- Handle emergencies and client concerns, escalating issues to the Facilities Manager when required.
- Lead and monitor in-house technical staff involved in installation and maintenance work.
Education & Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or a similar discipline. A Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) credential, or an equivalent certification, is preferred.
Experience
The role requires at least 7 years of experience in facilities management or engineering, with prior supervisory responsibility. Candidates should also have solid exposure to client handling, budgeting, and service delivery operations.
