Role Overview
At Rosewood Red Sea, the Electrician is responsible for keeping all electrical infrastructure operating safely, efficiently, and without interruption. The position plays a key part in guest comfort, ambience, and essential site operations by ensuring dependable power across guest rooms, villas, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
This role calls for strong technical accuracy, a proactive approach to maintenance, and consistent compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. It also requires adaptability in a multicultural workplace, willingness to work flexible shifts, and a disciplined, safety-first mindset within the engineering team.
Core Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot MDB, SMDB, and DB panels, wiring networks, lighting circuits, and overall power distribution systems.
- Maintain uninterrupted electrical supply for guest accommodations, villas, and public areas.
- Carry out load checks and isolate faults quickly when issues arise.
- Complete the weekly generator no-load test.
- Arrange and support semi-annual generator load testing during periods of low occupancy.
- Follow preventive maintenance plans for all electrical equipment and systems.
- Identify electrical faults and complete corrective repairs promptly.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work and system condition.
- Provide safe power support to kitchens, cold rooms, and laundry operations.
- Help maintain hygiene standards by ensuring equipment is serviced in a way that avoids contamination risks.
- Work with relevant teams during HACCP audits and compliance checks.
- Apply lockout/tagout procedures and other safe isolation practices before working on equipment.
- Respond to electrical emergencies such as power outages, short circuits, and equipment failures.
- Support fire protection systems, life-safety systems, and emergency lighting.
- Work across day, afternoon, and night shifts as operational needs require.
- Provide support during off-peak hours to keep critical operations running smoothly.
- Prepare and maintain documentation and reports related to electrical work and emergency response.
- Offer temporary coverage for colleagues when needed due to absence or leave.
- Coordinate effectively with a multinational and culturally diverse workforce.
- Assist with wider engineering tasks whenever additional support is required.
- Take part in annual performance reviews and ongoing development discussions.
- Continuously improve safety practices, efficiency, and response time while meeting safety and HACCP expectations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or ITI certification in Electrical Trade.
- 3 to 5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in resorts or hospitality settings.
- Solid understanding of electrical distribution systems.
- Working knowledge of safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Good English communication skills.
