Role overview
Join Chubb Fire & Security as an Electronic Security Technician focused on service work. This position suits a hands-on security professional who enjoys travelling between customer sites and working with enterprise-grade systems. The position is based in Auckland, with the office in Mt Wellington. You will handle servicing, preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and compliance checks for electronic security systems at customer locations, making sure all work aligns with Chubb’s standards as well as New Zealand regulatory and industry requirements.
What you will do
- Provide high-quality service outcomes for complex, enterprise-level electronic security solutions.
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, minor installation work, and commissioning for intruder alarm systems.
- Work on enterprise access control platforms such as Gallagher, Inner Range Integriti, and ICT Protege.
- Support enterprise CCTV and video management systems including Milestone and Avigilon.
- Complete compliance testing and prepare detailed technical records, service notes, and reports.
- Identify and resolve faults in integrated security environments while systems remain live at customer sites.
- Coordinate with other technicians, project managers, and subcontractors to deliver quality service and project results.
- Deliver professional, customer-oriented support while working on site.

You will bring solid experience in the electronic security field, especially with commercial and enterprise-grade systems. The role calls for someone who is well organised, technically strong, and focused on customer service, with the ability to work independently and manage their own workload effectively.
Requirements
- You must be legally permitted to work in New Zealand.
- You need a current full driver’s licence.
- A valid Certificate of Approval (COA) is required.
- You must be able to obtain and keep any customer-specific or site-specific security clearances needed for the role.
- Strong capability with enterprise electronic security systems is essential.
- Manufacturer certifications are preferred, especially for Gallagher, Inner Range Integriti, ICT Protege, Milestone, and Avigilon.
- You should have strong time-management skills, including planning jobs and travel routes efficiently.
- You must be able to produce clear, accurate, and detailed written service and compliance reports.
- You should be proactive, dependable, and committed to safe work practices.
- Current knowledge of New Zealand regulatory and industry standards is important.
- You must be comfortable using mobile tools, including the FieldService app, to plan schedules and manage work orders through completion.
