Education Specialist

Role overview

The Education Specialist will help drive program results in line with organizational plans, results-based management methods, performance standards, and accountability expectations. The role supports the delivery of education outcomes through planning, implementation, monitoring, partnerships, and knowledge-sharing.

Key functions

• Contribute to education programme design and forward planning.
• Track implementation progress and support delivery of intended results.
• Provide technical and operational assistance during programme execution.
• Build and maintain networks, collaborations, and external partnerships.
• Promote innovation, capture learning, and strengthen team capacity.

Qualifications and experience

A master’s degree or higher is required in education, economics, psychology, sociology, or another closely related field. Candidates need at least five years of relevant professional experience in education-focused programme planning, programme management, and/or research. Experience in a developing country setting and/or exposure to emergency contexts will be an advantage. Prior work with a UN agency or similar organization will also be considered a strong asset.

Language requirements

Strong English fluency is mandatory. Knowledge of another official UN language such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, or proficiency in a local language, will be an added advantage.

Accra, Greater Accra Region, Ghana.
