About the Organisation
Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) is a Queensland Government agency focused on unlocking land and speeding up the delivery of housing, planning and infrastructure. Its work is aimed at creating places where people can live well, while also supporting economic growth across the state.
Backed by the Economic Development Act 2012, EDQ has distinct planning and approval powers that help move difficult projects forward and bring development-ready land to market. The organisation’s broader purpose is to help Queenslanders secure a home, generate more jobs closer to where people live, and support communities that reflect Queensland’s way of life.
EDQ works with other government bodies and industry partners to attract investment, enable employment and deliver projects that create tangible benefits for Queenslanders.
