About the Company
BEEAH is focused on sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation to help shape a smarter future. With a strong track record in environmental solutions, resource management, and technology-led services, the organization works across the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt to build more sustainable communities.
Role Overview
The Design Engineer will join the BEEAH Recycling team and contribute to the planning and drafting of waste treatment infrastructure. The position involves developing process layouts, cross-sectional drawings, technical documentation, and Bills of Quantities for civil and electromechanical elements tied to municipal, healthcare, industrial hazardous, and fallen stock waste management projects. The work also includes supporting the adoption of advanced waste treatment systems such as MRFs, composting, RDF processing, incineration, autoclaving, stabilization, and engineered landfill solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Study business inputs, capture requirements, and analyze them to uncover risks, insights, and areas for improvement.
- Create detailed layouts and sectional drawings for waste treatment facilities serving municipal, healthcare, hazardous, and fallen stock streams.
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and electrical teams to ensure the design can be integrated and implemented effectively.
- Prepare precise Bills of Quantities covering civil, electromechanical, and infrastructure-related materials, labor, and equipment.
- Develop design concepts for sorting, composting, RDF, landfill, remediation, incineration, autoclave, and other specialized waste treatment facilities.
- Ensure all design work complies with environmental, health, and safety standards while supporting energy-efficient and sustainable outcomes.
- Produce technical reports, specifications, and supporting documents, and assist through construction and commissioning phases.
- Work with project managers, plant operators, and clients; take part in design reviews and technical presentations.
- Follow HSE requirements, apply safe design principles, maintain safe site behavior, and attend mandatory safety training.
Qualifications and Experience
The role calls for at least 5 years of experience in designing waste management infrastructure, particularly for municipal, healthcare, hazardous, and fallen stock waste treatment projects. Experience with technologies such as waste sorting, composting, RDF, incineration, autoclaving, stabilization, and remediation of old dumpsites is expected. The candidate should also have hands-on experience creating layouts, cross-sections, and technical documentation for civil and electromechanical systems, along with familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, business administration, data science, marketing, design, or a related field is mentioned. Additional certifications or coursework in waste management, environmental sustainability, or process engineering would be an advantage.
