Role overview

Veriforce is hiring a Data Scientist to work on remote technology initiatives in the UK. The position sits within the Technology department and reports to the VP of AI. The company builds software that supports safer workplaces by helping organisations manage compliance across health and safety, sustainability, and ethical conduct.

This role is focused on building data science solutions that support business workflows and internal operations. You will work alongside data modellers, data engineers, AI engineers, and DevOps specialists to extend platforms that connect with LLMs, MCPs, APIs, and enterprise data. The work contributes directly to helping clients and contractors get started faster, stay compliant, and return home safely.

Key responsibilities

Develop, train, and release machine learning models for use cases such as risk scoring, compliance forecasting, churn analysis, and contractor performance analytics.
Create and implement LLM-based tools for extracting insights from text, identifying anomalies, and automating compliance checks.
Partner with engineering and product teams to embed models into live systems running on AWS and Azure.
Use Microsoft Fabric for data intake, transformation, and feature engineering work.
Apply strong model governance practices, including monitoring, retraining, and ongoing performance tuning.
Work as part of a cross-functional team operating in an agile delivery model.
Contribute to an Agile SDLC built around transparency, collaboration, breaking work into smaller units, and fast iteration.
Keep up to date with new developments in AI/ML, predictive analytics, and supply chain risk management.
Explain technical solutions to non-engineering stakeholders and demonstrate product features to gather feedback.

What the company is looking for

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related field.
Proven practical experience using Python, SQL, and machine learning tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Jupyter Notebooks.
Working knowledge of AWS services including S3, SageMaker, and Lambda, plus Microsoft Fabric.
Solid understanding of predictive modelling, natural language processing, and LLM architectures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas to non-technical audiences and turn business needs into technical outcomes.

Work arrangement

This is a permanent role with a hybrid setup. You will work from the office 3 days per week and from home for the remaining days. The role is based in the UK and is described as remote, UK.
