Role overview
This position is for an interview stage candidate. The selected driver will be responsible for collecting and delivering parcels along an assigned route in a professional and efficient manner, while making sure every shipment complies with Federal Express Canada service standards. The role also includes supporting customers through related service tasks.
Core duties
The job centers on timely parcel pickup and delivery, shipment handling checks, and providing courteous customer support as part of day-to-day route operations.
Qualifications and experience
- A high school diploma or an equivalent credential is required.
- A valid driver’s licence is mandatory, along with a clean and reliable driving history.
- Applicants should be able to lift up to 70 lbs and move packages weighing as much as 150 lbs when proper equipment is used.
- At least 1 year of customer-facing business experience is preferred.
- Candidates must successfully clear the required pre-employment driver assessment training.
- Basic familiarity with Federal Express Canada operations and Canadian customs rules is considered an advantage.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organization, and time-management abilities are needed.
- The role requires solid customer service skills, the ability to juggle multiple tasks, and comfort working under pressure.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and holidays based on operational needs is essential.
Additional job conditions
This position may require working in a Windows-based environment, completing recurring training successfully, maintaining annual credentials where applicable, and carrying out other duties as assigned. For Quebec-based roles, bilingual ability in French and English is required. For roles where driving is a core function, candidates must hold a valid applicable licence such as class 5, G, or 1[AZ], and must not have more than two infractions and/or accidents in the 24 months before applying. Selection is based on the annual driving record, interview performance, and results of driving assessments.
Compensation and posting details
The starting wage is 24.50 per hour. The posting date is 6/17 and the listing closes on 6/24.
