About the Role

Higgins Coatings is seeking a Business Development Manager to grow its presence across the greater Townsville region. This role focuses on developing new commercial painting and maintenance business by creating strong local connections, identifying opportunities, and turning conversations into long-term projects. You will work with sectors such as schools, hospitals, retirement villages, shopping centres, and commercial property owners, with the backing of the company’s national support network.

What Success in This Role Looks Like

• Establishing a strong local footprint through networking, referrals, regular follow-up, and meaningful engagement with decision-makers.
• Moving early discussions into site visits, practical recommendations, proposals, and enduring customer partnerships.
• Maintaining an active pipeline through disciplined CRM use, clear next steps, and consistent relationship-led activity.
• Partnering with operations teams to define project scope, prepare solution-focused proposals, and ensure a smooth transition once work is secured.
