Role overview
As a Business Development Executive at Gartner, you will be part of a team that expands the company’s footprint across global markets by winning new clients and building trusted relationships with senior decision-makers. The role focuses on understanding the priorities of C-level stakeholders, identifying where Gartner can create value, and moving opportunities from first contact through to close and handoff to account management.
You will own a territory of Large Enterprise prospects, which may include completely new organizations as well as existing Gartner clients from other business areas. Large Enterprise customers in this segment may generate up to $1 billion in annual revenue.
What you will do
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across your territory, starting with outreach and ending with conversion of Large Enterprise C-level stakeholders.
- Lead the complete sales discussion and commercial negotiation process, then transition newly acquired clients to the account management team.
- Match Gartner’s research, advice, and tools to the client’s needs so the partnership delivers clear business value.
- Consistently develop a healthy pipeline of strong opportunities to meet KPI targets and sales goals.
- Carry quota responsibility for the assigned territory.
- Handle complex, high-value sales in diverse and matrixed business settings.
- Manage forecasting and account planning on monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles.
What you need
- At least 5 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in complex and intangible sales environments.
- Background in business development or acquiring new clients in a sales role is strongly preferred.
- Experience selling to, or influencing, C-level executives.
- A demonstrated history of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong capability in accurately managing and forecasting a multi-step sales process.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
