Biology Educator

Overview

This is a short-term remote contract for a STEM Biology expert working on task-based assignments. The engagement lasts 3 months and is focused on creating and solving advanced biology problems that help evaluate the limits of large language models.

Compensation is set at $250 per task. The work can be performed from anywhere in India, with a requirement to work at least 4 hours per day and up to 40 hours per week. A 4-hour overlap with PST is also required.

Key Responsibilities

• Create difficult biology questions and solve them to test how far large language models can be pushed.
• Produce high-quality, stepwise answers with precise and well-supported reasoning.
• Work with LLM researchers to match question styles with evaluation objectives, particularly in topics where models commonly underperform.
• Help shape new evaluation benchmarks drawn from biology curricula ranging from early undergraduate content to PhD-level material.
• Break down complex biology problems using a clear, methodical, and logical process.
• Explain biological ideas in simple terms, using visuals or simulations when helpful.
• Offer detailed annotations and constructive feedback for AI evaluation workflows.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline, or current enrollment in a PhD/postdoctoral program.
• Strong background in research and analytical problem-solving.
• Ability to give clear, useful feedback and detailed annotations.
• Creative thinking and the ability to approach problems from different angles.
• Strong written communication and collaboration skills in a remote work environment.
• Self-driven and comfortable working independently.
• Access to a desktop or laptop computer with dependable internet service.
• Capability to analyze and solve advanced biology questions in a structured way.
• Ability to communicate biology concepts simply, including through visuals or simulations when needed.
• A LinkedIn profile must be included in the resume.
