Barista

Overview

Javaroma Gourmet Coffee & Tea is hiring a barista to work at its Yellowknife location in the Northwest Territories. This is an on-site position, so the duties must be carried out at the physical workplace with no remote-work option.

Languages

The role requires English.

Education

Completion of secondary school (high school) is required.

Experience

Applicants should have 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience.

Work Setting

• The employer does not cover relocation expenses.
• Candidates willing to relocate will be considered.
• The workplace is a coffee shop.

Responsibilities

• Move clean dishes, cutlery, and other service items to customer areas and set up tables.
• Clear tables, trays, and chairs, then clean them properly.
• Run dishwashers to clean dishes, glasses, and utensils.
• Store cleaned dishes in the designated area.
• Refill condiments and other table or service-area supplies.
• Wash and sanitize dishes and related items by hand when needed.
• Track the quantities of food consumed or used.
• Prepare take-out orders for packing.
• Portion and wrap food items.
• Heat, finish, and assemble simple food items.
• Restock refrigerators and salad bars.
• Take customer orders.
• Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.

Equipment and Machinery Experience

• Experience using a conventional oven.
• Experience with an electronic cash register.

• Own transportation is required.
