Overview
The company has built a welcoming, team-oriented workplace and has been supporting motorists and servicing vehicles since 1976. With decades of experience serving the San Diego area, the service team works on a wide range of cars and trucks. This role is for a General Service Technician who handles non-technical automotive maintenance and support tasks, including basic repairs, customer shuttle support, parts pickup, and keeping the shop clean and presentable.
Compensation
Pay can go up to $20 per hour, depending on prior experience.

Responsibilities
- Remove and install tires, balance wheels, and rotate tires as needed.
- Carry out oil changes and other routine services under guidance from the Shop Manager or Store Manager.
- While completing routine work, notice visible repair needs or safety issues and record vehicle condition using the company’s multi-point inspection or repair order process.
- Keep the service bays, tire storage areas, showroom, and exterior surroundings tidy and inviting.
- Transport customers to and from home or work using the company vehicle.
- Collect parts, supplies, tires, and similar items from vendors or the corporate office using the company vehicle.
- Drive company vehicles responsibly, courteously, and in compliance with traffic laws.
- Perform state safety and emissions inspections in line with company and state requirements.
- Follow safety rules at all times and escalate any concerns to management.
- Comply with all policies and procedures described in the Employee Handbook.
Requirements
- High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Valid, current driver’s license.
- Current or expired State Inspector License, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of joining.
- Basic familiarity with under-the-hood, mechanical, and undercarriage systems.
- Availability to work Monday through Saturday.
Working Conditions
The role involves exposure to moderate to loud noise, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic substances, and other hazardous or non-hazardous materials. Work conditions may also include extreme heat or cold depending on the outdoor temperature.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for up to eight hours per day and walk around the building as required.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching, with full arm and hand mobility and regular use of hands and fingers.
- Ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Capability to hear and speak clearly.
- Vision strong enough to detect color, depth, and refocus as needed.
