Accountant

About the role

This is a remote contract opportunity for a finance specialist who can work with accounting records, reporting data, and operational finance tasks. The engagement is available for candidates in the EMEA region and involves a weekly commitment of 10 to 40 hours. Compensation is offered at an hourly rate of $10 to $55.

Core responsibilities

• Check financial records, invoices, and ledger entries to confirm they are complete and accurate.
• Investigate account differences through variance analysis and reconciliation, then resolve any mismatches found.
• Review data exported from ERP platforms and share practical, clearly explained observations based on the results.
• Assist with financial reporting activities, including accounts payable and receivable processes and month-end close support.
• Work through real and synthetic finance tasks by matching supporting evidence to the expected output with a strong eye for detail.
• Explain complex findings in written form with precision and clarity.

Requirements

• Strong command of Excel and Google Sheets for reporting and financial analysis.
• Hands-on experience in accounting operations, AP/AR, financial reporting, reconciliations, or FP&A.
• Ability to read and interpret ERP reports, ledger data, and supporting documents.
• Good analytical judgment with the ability to spot and describe financial inconsistencies.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken, with an emphasis on clear expression.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline, along with at least some relevant experience.
