Role Overview
This position is for a Workforce Management Assistant Manager responsible for coordinating third-party picker operations, improving in-store performance, and ensuring staffing readiness across assigned stores. The role also involves vendor management, performance analysis, and collaboration with multiple internal teams to keep operations efficient and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate third-party picker workforce activities by identifying and onboarding suitable partners, arranging picker interviews, matching store coverage with shift needs, and making sure teams are operationally ready, including transport planning, housing proximity, and punctual attendance at assigned stores.
- Track and improve picker performance in stores by reviewing attendance, hygiene compliance, and productivity levels; working with partners on training and feedback; and requesting replacements when performance does not improve within the agreed timeframe.
- Review workforce and operational KPIs such as utilization, adherence, and attendance to spot inefficiencies, resolve staffing shortages at store level, and implement practical improvements that strengthen workforce efficiency.
- Handle vendor onboarding and partnership workflows by evaluating contracts, checking operational readiness, and partnering with Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Operations to ensure alignment with company standards and a smooth engagement process.
- Manage third-party partner accountability by escalating unresolved operational issues, applying contractual penalties where applicable, and recommending suspension or termination when vendors repeatedly fail to meet expectations.
- Set goals for team members, provide guidance and support, assess performance, and share regular feedback to help them improve.
- Take part in identifying and hiring key talent for the function.
- Give clear instructions, organize priorities, delegate tasks, and track workflow execution.
- Encourage team participation in improvement, innovation, and knowledge-sharing efforts.
- Ensure daily work follows relevant policies, procedures, and controls consistently.
- Support ongoing process improvement initiatives to increase overall effectiveness.
- Help maintain a high-performance culture and promote HungerStation’s values.
Requirements
- 3 to 6 years of experience in workforce management, operations planning, or capacity planning.
- Background in contact center, logistics, or other operations-intensive environments.
- Hands-on experience with forecasting, scheduling, and performance reporting.
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders such as Operations, HR, Finance, and Procurement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
