Job Summary
The Tool Keeper will be responsible for tracking, safeguarding, and keeping in usable condition the tools, materials, and consumables needed on site. This role may also involve other tasks that support FieldCore’s objectives and core values.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the issue and return of materials, tools, and consumables, making sure quantities, specifications, and delivery timelines are correct.
- Raise requests for required tools, materials, and consumables.
- Draft delivery documents for items leaving the plant site.
- Move materials from customer storage locations to FieldCore warehouses as needed and notify the engineer once items are ready for use.
- Compile a quarterly stock report covering tools, consumables, materials, and stationery, and keep minimum inventory levels on hand.
- Confirm that all issued tools, materials, and consumables remain safe and fit for use.
- Manage chemical stock safely, including storage, handling, disposal, and recordkeeping.
- Escalate any safety concerns related to tools, materials, or consumables to the safety specialist or manager.
- Keep inventories for lifting gear, scaffolding materials, electrical tools, power tools, hand tools, and machinery, including inspection, storage, disposal, and records.
- Track PPE stock, including availability, storage, inspection, and upkeep.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
- Be open to travel when required.
- Be willing to work holidays, weekends, and overtime based on field assignment needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience working as a Tool Keeper, ideally in the power and energy sector.
- Good organizational ability and strong research skills.
- Solid customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to produce accurate reports with findings and recommendations.
- Capacity to handle varied work with speed and accuracy under deadline pressure.
- Comfort working independently.
