Policies, processes, and safety

  • Contribute to process safety management activities.

  • Stay updated on new technologies and industry trends, and take part in training to build capability and knowledge.

Technology operations

  • Carry out the CTS plan and technology improvement work according to scheduled milestones for pilot and scale-up studies.
  • Assess engineering documentation and perform process engineering work as planned.
  • Provide technical input for root cause analysis of complex process and engineering issues.
  • Review the performance of feedstock, chemicals, additives, catalysts, and fuels, and flag any deviations.
  • Ensure the technical integrity of plant changes and modifications in line with approved standards and guidelines.
  • Develop, validate, customize, and maintain simulation models and APC models.
  • Prepare and refresh MIS reports and other technology comparison reports.

Process innovation

  • Identify future constraints and emerging trends in internal technology and product application areas, and propose practical alternatives.
  • Recommend process, equipment, and technology upgrades that improve capacity and process efficiency.
  • Support the execution of plant improvement initiatives.

Education and experience

A bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering is required. A master’s degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred.

The role requires 3 years of industrial experience, with exposure to the chemical, petrochemical, or refinery industry.

Additional knowledge preferred

Useful background includes familiarity with engineering codes and standards, process technology, process design review, preparation of design standards, process simulation, pinch analysis, cooling-water networks, and flare networks.
