About Nagi
Nagi is developing an AI-first research platform intended to help researchers, students, engineers, and innovators find, interpret, and connect scientific knowledge more efficiently than conventional search tools.
Rather than serving only paper results, the platform is being shaped as an intelligent research workspace with semantic search, AI-driven relevance ranking, research maps, literature comprehension, and knowledge discovery built into one flow.
The product is already underway and includes a working MVP with academic paper search, relevance ranking, and a modern research interface. The team is now moving toward an initial public launch while continuing to expand the platform.
About the Role
The founder is building Nagi independently and is seeking a highly capable Technical Co-Founder to help shape and scale the company from the very beginning.
This is broader than a standard engineering job. The role involves participation in product direction, technical architecture, long-term planning, and building a company with international ambitions.
The selected person will have substantial influence over both the product roadmap and the technical direction of Nagi.
What You'll Do
- Take ideas from concept through to production-ready features.
- Design and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs.
- Develop AI integrations, search capabilities, and research infrastructure.
- Work closely with the founder to refine product strategy.
- Make technical choices that shape the company’s future.
- Support hiring, help define engineering culture, and contribute to future fundraising as the business grows.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal person is someone who brings strong engineering ability, enjoys building products from the ground up, and naturally operates with an ownership mindset rather than a task-completion mindset.
They should learn quickly, deliver consistently, and be comfortable in an early-stage startup where priorities can change fast.
Alignment with the ambition of building a globally recognized technology company is important.
Preferred Background
- Experience with Next.js or React is a plus.
- TypeScript knowledge is advantageous.
- Node.js experience is valuable.
- Exposure to AI or LLM-based systems is helpful.
- Familiarity with search systems is beneficial.
- Python experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of vector databases is useful.
- Cloud infrastructure experience is preferred.
- Product architecture experience is an advantage.
Compensation
This is an equity-based founding opportunity. There is no fixed salary at present. Compensation is expected to evolve as the company grows and begins to generate revenue or raise funding.
