Role Summary

The OSD Operator supports oral solid dosage formulation development by working alongside formulation scientists on laboratory-scale manufacturing work. This position is responsible for operating and caring for OSD equipment, assisting with formulation studies, and maintaining strong standards for GLP, SOP compliance, data integrity, and EHS practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Run and assist with laboratory-scale OSD equipment used for dispensing, granulation, FBP, HME, blending, compression, and coating in line with approved procedures and protocols.
• Prepare, observe, and clean equipment such as blenders, granulators, compression machines, coating pans, and related accessories under supervision.
• Support formulation trials, process optimization work, and batch execution activities.
• Carry out daily verification and calibration of balances and pH meters, and record the details properly in logbooks.
• Coordinate annual calibration and preventive maintenance of formulation equipment with the instrumentation and engineering teams.
• Recognize equipment faults, deviations, or unusual performance, then label, isolate, and report them without delay.
• Follow EHS standards, use PPE correctly, and handle materials safely.
• Assist with raw material handling during batch operations and ensure expired or discarded chemicals are disposed of according to SOP.
• Escalate safety observations, incidents, and near-miss events immediately.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the OSD and injectable laboratories in line with cGMP expectations.
• Monitor temperature and humidity in lab refrigerators and freezers every day and collect data backups at regular intervals.
• Prepare RGP and NRGP in coordination with the technical team, assign the required numbering, and keep track of all records.
• Ensure materials are received by the relevant CRO and CMO locations.
• Track and follow up on materials sent out through RGP.
• Maintain minimum stocks of spare and consumable items in coordination with the warehouse team.
• Help ensure the site has suitable systems for collection, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste through authorized third parties, working with the EHS department.
• Carry out all site EHS requirements and provide full support wherever needed.

Experience and Education

This position requires 8+ years of experience as a working professional in a similar field. A bachelor’s degree in science or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
