Overview
Join a rapidly expanding technology infrastructure company that supports large-scale data center and cloud operations throughout the United States and Canada. The finance team is hiring a Payroll Specialist to manage payroll activities across both countries. This position can be performed fully remotely from anywhere in the US, or from Dallas.
Role summary
In this position, you will take ownership of payroll from start to finish for a varied workforce, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and a positive employee experience.
Key responsibilities
- Run complete payroll cycles for salaried, hourly, and casual employees in both the US and Canada, including overtime, on-call, and call-out compensation.
- Review and confirm complex pay items such as retroactive payments, parental leave, and payroll corrections.
- Manage benefits administration for 401(k) and RRSP plans, while following plan provisions and tax obligations.
- Serve as the main point of contact for outsourced payroll processing partners, including ADP, in both countries.
- Coordinate government remittance reconciliations and year-end reporting such as T4, W-2, ROE, and Forms 941/940.
- Support payroll governance and SOX-aligned controls for the finance function.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while meeting strict deadlines. Strong knowledge of payroll rules in both Canada and the US is important. A Business Administration diploma or degree, or an equivalent qualification, is expected.
Preferred experience
Experience handling 401(k) and RRSP administration is important. Prior exposure to cross-border payroll, ADP systems, and CPP/CPM certification are beneficial, though not mandatory.
