About the role

The Payroll Specialist will own the end-to-end payroll cycle, making sure employees are paid correctly and on time while staying aligned with tax rules and payroll compliance requirements. The role also handles payroll queries, supports statutory reporting and tax submissions, and works closely with HR and Finance to keep payroll operations running smoothly.

Payroll administration and compliance

  • Run payroll accurately and within deadlines, covering salary payments, deductions, and employee benefits.
  • Make sure payroll activities follow applicable laws, tax obligations, and internal company procedures for both local and overseas employees.
  • Manage monthly CPF payments, NS make-up pay submissions, government-paid leave claims, and other related payroll transactions.

Tax filings and reporting

  • Prepare and submit employee tax documents accurately and on schedule in line with local and international tax requirements.
  • Liaise with external auditors, public agencies, and tax authorities when support or clarification is needed.

Grants and leave claims

  • Handle the preparation and submission of government-related claims, including grant applications and leave reimbursement requests.
  • Check that all employee claims are complete, accurate, and filed within company guidelines and regulatory timelines.

Internal controls and payroll systems

  • Set up and monitor payroll controls to reduce errors and protect the integrity of payroll data.
  • Review payroll records and processes regularly to confirm compliance with company policies and statutory obligations.

Qualifications

The role calls for a candidate with a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A master’s degree or an HR certification is also preferred. You should have 5 years of HR experience, including at least 5 years in payroll processing or a closely related function.
