Role overview
Meta is hiring a Payroll Analyst to oversee payroll operations throughout the EMEA region. The position focuses on running multi-country payroll accurately and on schedule, while making sure every payroll follows local tax, labor, and statutory rules across a wide range of EMEA countries. You will work closely with HR, Finance, and third-party payroll partners to deliver a smooth payroll experience for employees and help improve the processes that support a fast-growing global workforce.
What you will do
- Work with outsourced payroll support and processing teams to administer payroll for multiple EMEA entities, including France, Switzerland, Poland, Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, Greece, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Bulgaria, Kenya, Senegal, Nigeria, and Denmark, with regular rotation across countries while maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Strengthen internal controls and review existing workflows to identify and implement improvements that increase efficiency, improve accuracy, and support SOX and other regulatory obligations.
- Build effective working relationships with internal teams such as HR and Benefits & Equity, as well as outside partners including payroll providers, government authorities, and auditors, to support business projects and resolve payroll escalations.
- Own payroll compliance and statutory filings, including handling requests from local authorities and Internal Audit.
- Prepare data analysis and reporting for leadership and surface opportunities to improve payroll operations.
- Handle Salesforce case management for payroll questions and ensure issues are resolved or escalated within the required timeframes.
- Monitor payroll vendor performance, including SLA adherence, root-cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
- Keep current on international payroll laws and compliance rules and apply them to payroll practices across the region.
- Support broader regional and global finance operations initiatives when needed.
- Carry out additional operational duties as directed by management.
What we are looking for
- Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a busy environment.
- Clear analytical thinking with a problem-solving mindset and a focus on continual improvement.
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a similar discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in regional payroll operations within international payroll, ideally in a fast-scaling multinational business.
- Hands-on experience with ADP Celergo and/or SAP.
- Working knowledge of EMEA payroll rules, tax requirements, and compliance obligations, plus practical experience applying them in multi-country payroll processing.
- Experience managing offshore payroll teams and collaborating effectively with outsourced vendors and distributed teams.
- Proven ability to run end-to-end payroll processes.
- Curiosity and initiative to improve processes and explore better ways of working within payroll operations.
- Professional English communication skills for coordinating with teams and vendors across EMEA.
Preferred experience
- Experience supporting payroll operations across 10 or more EMEA countries at the same time.
- Ongoing development of AI-related skills such as prompt/context engineering and agent orchestration.
- Knowledge of GDPR requirements related to payroll data handling and retention.
- Prior involvement in payroll system implementations, migrations, or automation projects.
- Strong Excel skills for payroll reconciliation and reporting.
- Ability to use AI tools to redesign workflows and deliver measurable gains in efficiency and quality.
- Experience working with responsible and ethical AI practices, including risk review, bias reduction, and quality assurance.
