About the Role

Ariat is looking to add a Merchandise Planner to support Ariat.com. The role focuses on building and running demand and inventory plans that help drive revenue, protect margin, and create a strong customer experience. You will work across teams to make sure the right products are available in the right quantities at the right time, while aligning product flow with marketing, digital merchandising, and site performance signals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts at the style, color, and size level for Ariat.com.
  • Use past sales results, site traffic, promotional activity, and marketing inputs to estimate future demand.
  • Take part in weekly and monthly forecast reviews and adjust plans with internal partners as needed.
  • Track in-stock performance, weeks of supply, and inventory health across priority styles and categories.
  • Identify possible stockouts, oversells, and excess inventory, then recommend reflows or inventory pulls when needed.
  • Coordinate with Supply Planning and Distribution Center teams to keep product moving on time.
  • Work with Digital Merchandising and Marketing on new launches, site promotions, and major campaigns.
  • Review promotional impact and post-event results to improve future forecasting accuracy.
  • Prepare weekly business summaries and sell-through reporting by category and product.
  • Support hindsight reviews and seasonal planning by consolidating performance patterns and trends.
  • Use Excel, Tableau, and ERP or forecasting platforms to analyze and report business performance.
  • Partner with merchandising, marketing, customer service, and fulfillment teams to keep plans aligned with execution.
  • Act as the main day-to-day contact for Ariat.com inventory and forecasting needs.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline, along with at least 2 years of experience in retail, e-commerce, or demand planning. Experience in apparel or footwear is preferred. Strong Excel skills and solid analytical ability are important, and familiarity with forecasting or planning tools is an advantage. The role also calls for a strong grasp of e-commerce KPIs such as conversion, promotional lift, and in-stock percentage. You should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator who is comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, presenting recommendations confidently, and staying open to different viewpoints. A proactive, adaptable self-starter is best suited for this position.
