About the Role
IC İçtaş Construction brings more than five decades of experience across major local and international infrastructure projects. Its portfolio includes airports, ports, marinas, highways, bridges, high-speed rail, large-scale power facilities, and tourism developments. The company is hiring a meticulous Laboratory Technician (Laborant) to support quality assurance and testing work for a road and infrastructure project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Requirements
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a similar technical discipline from a recognized institution.
- At least 20 years of background in quality control for construction and infrastructure projects.
- Minimum 10 years of direct experience working in construction site laboratories, with material testing and lab supervision responsibilities.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Solid knowledge of construction material testing, laboratory methods, and quality requirements.
- Ability to oversee lab staff, manage testing timelines, and handle reporting tasks.
- A careful, structured, and disciplined approach to maintaining accurate results, compliance, and records.
- Working knowledge of MS Office for reporting and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Carry out routine laboratory and field tests on soil, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt according to project specifications and standards such as AASHTO and ASTM.
- Take planned samples from site materials and fresh concrete/asphalt to ensure testing reflects actual conditions for quality control.
- Enter, calculate, and maintain test records accurately in standard formats so logs remain current and ready for audit review.
- Keep laboratory equipment clean, serviced, and ready for use, and support scheduled calibration of testing tools and measuring devices.
- Alert the QA/QC Manager right away when test outcomes do not meet required limits or specifications.
- Label, store, and track samples properly, including concrete cylinders and cubes, so curing and testing timelines are followed correctly.
- Work with site engineers and batching plant teams to coordinate testing with the project’s daily construction progress.
- Maintain an orderly and safe laboratory space, following site safety rules and proper procedures for chemicals and heavy equipment.
- Support the preparation of daily and weekly quality reports and related compliance documentation.

This role is for a road and infrastructure project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The position is full-time and site-based.
