Role overview
This contract position is for a Junior Data Analyst based in Watford for a 6-month assignment. The role focuses on improving reporting and analytics by turning manual processes into automated solutions, strengthening data quality, and helping business teams understand findings clearly.
Key responsibilities
- Build automated data input and reporting workflows using tools such as Python, Excel Power Query, Power BI, and Power Automate, connected to centralized data sources.
- Protect data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reports, including during and after migration activities.
- Explain analytical outputs and summarize conclusions for business stakeholders in a clear, practical way.
- Keep detailed documentation covering report logic, data transformation steps, and automation procedures.
- Support ad hoc analysis requests when needed.
- Develop new Power BI dashboards and refine existing ones, along with related automation tasks.
- Collect information from multiple sources and shape it into usable datasets.
- Convert manual reporting into fully automated reporting solutions.
- Handle end-to-end dashboard development, including ETL work and front-end visual design.
- Maintain and improve Power Automate flows.
- Carry out routine analysis such as year-over-year comparisons and month-to-month trend reviews.
- Validate, clean, and troubleshoot data, including third-party sources, to resolve quality issues.
- Work with databases including MS Access and SQL Server.
Skills, knowledge, and experience
The position calls for strong analytical ability, a careful eye for detail, and the confidence to deliver reliable outcomes. You should be able to translate data into clear insights for non-technical audiences and work independently to meet deadlines. Experience in supply chain is desirable.
A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, in statistics or a related discipline is required. Practical ability with SQL, Python, Power BI, Excel, and Power Automate is expected, along with a good understanding of relational databases and SQL-based querying and validation.
