Role Overview
CORMAC is hiring a seasoned, adaptable HR Manager to lead employee engagement and learning management within a fully remote setup. This position blends strategic planning with day-to-day execution, working closely with leaders and managers to advance people programs, improve employee experience, and maintain HR practices that align with business objectives and compliance needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the link between managers and employees by handling questions, concerns, and support needs.
- Design, run, and follow up on employee engagement activities, surveys, and improvement plans.
- Help sustain a workplace that is positive, inclusive, and compliant with company and legal standards.
- Support workforce planning and retention efforts that address both current and future business needs.
- Own the performance review process and help ensure it encourages strong performance across the organization.
- Review training and engagement metrics and share meaningful findings with leadership.
- Administer the Learning Management System, including content updates, user access, reporting, and compliance monitoring.
- Work with leaders to identify learning gaps and connect training plans with business priorities.
- Create and maintain HR systems, processes, policies, and practices that support the broader organization.
- Build programs that support recognition, wellness, and company culture.
- Manage employee benefits programs and enrollment activities.
- Assist with recruitment and hiring workflows.
- Oversee onboarding so HR paperwork and required trainings are completed on time.
- Guide managers on reviews, coaching conversations, and development planning.
- Provide HR reporting and insights that help leadership make informed decisions.
- Assess learning needs and help build, roll out, and evaluate training and development initiatives.
- Handle practical HR administrative work needed to keep daily operations running smoothly.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Residence in the DMV region (District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia) is required.
- 4 to 6 years of proven experience in an HR Manager, HR Generalist, or other senior HR role within the IT, software, or consulting industry.
- Direct experience managing a Learning Management System.
- Background in supporting and managing employees in a remote work environment.
- Ability to balance strategic HR planning with hands-on leadership and execution.
- Strong communication skills, including active listening, negotiation, and presenting to others.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Solid understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Preferred: Professional certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, aPHR, or an equivalent HR credential.
