Housekeeper

Role overview

The Housekeeper role at The Village At Germantown sits under the guidance of the Housekeeping Supervisor and/or Lead ES Technician. The position focuses on keeping assigned shared spaces, corridors, resident apartments, restrooms, dining areas, offices, and furnishings clean and sanitary so that resident care remains at a consistently high standard and all work meets applicable federal, state, and local requirements.

What you will do

• Carry out routine cleaning across a wide range of surfaces and items, including ceilings, vents, exhaust fans, lights, windows, mirrors, drapes, walls, doors, cove base, tile, carpets, showers, tubs, sinks, toilets, curtains, furniture, refrigerators, waste containers, cleaning tools, carts, elevators, handrails, telephones, televisions, and stairs.
• Maintain housekeeping storage areas in a tidy and well-arranged condition.
• Attend all scheduled training sessions and staff meetings.
• Report department-related issues or concerns to the Executive Housekeeper.
• Take on additional duties when assigned by authorized staff or when needed to respond to emergency situations.
• Work cross-functionally by being trained to assist in Laundry Technician duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and carry out both verbal and written instructions is required.
• A high school diploma or GED is preferred, though not mandatory.
• At least 1 to 3 years of housekeeping experience is needed, ideally in hospitality or a healthcare setting.
