Burger Urge began 19 years ago with a goal of bringing burgers back into the spotlight. Since then, it has grown into one of Australia’s fastest-expanding burger brands, backed by enthusiastic Franchise Partners and a Support Office team. The business is now seeking a Head of Operations to guide national operations and help define its next stage of growth.
About the role
This senior leadership position reports to the Managing Director and plays a key part in strengthening operational performance across both corporate and franchised venues throughout the country. The role involves setting strategic direction, leading an operations team, and working closely with Franchise Partners and venue leaders to improve commercial results, guest experience, and long-term growth.
The position is well suited to a practical leader who performs well in fast-moving environments, can build team capability, and is able to turn strategy into day-to-day execution.
Key duties
- Shape and deliver Burger Urge’s nationwide operations strategy.
- Improve sales, profitability, and venue-level performance across the network.
- Strengthen capability and accountability at every level of the organisation.
- Work with Franchise Partners to enhance operating results and commercial performance.
- Manage labour, cost control, stock management, and compliance expectations.
- Maintain consistent delivery of operating standards and customer experience benchmarks.
- Oversee new site openings and assist with growth and expansion projects.
- Spot opportunities to improve systems, processes, and overall efficiency.
Candidate profile
The right person will combine operational leadership, commercial awareness, and strong people-management skills. They should be confident leading teams, influencing stakeholders, and driving performance in a growth-focused business.
Experience and capabilities
- Background in senior multi-site leadership within hospitality, quick service restaurants, retail, or franchising.
- Proven experience managing large teams spread across different locations.
- Strong commercial judgement with a track record of improving revenue and profitability.
- Excellent coaching, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to lead change in a high-growth environment.
- Strategic thinking paired with a practical, action-focused mindset.
- High standards, resilience, and a genuine commitment to developing people.
- Current unrestricted Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel nationally.
