Role overview
This position sits within rooms and guest services operations at a luxury hospitality property in New Delhi. The role focuses on delivering smooth front-desk service, supporting guests throughout arrival, stay, and departure, and ensuring accurate handling of guest records, billing, and daily shift activities.
Key responsibilities
You will manage guest check-ins end to end, confirm identity and payment details, assign rooms, and activate or issue room keys. The role also involves creating correct guest accounts, adding rewards details, checking rate accuracy, documenting exceptions, and securing payment before keys are released.
Other duties include preparing and reviewing daily logs and reports, completing cashier and closing paperwork, providing directions and property details to guests, handling guest requests by coordinating with the right team members, and following up to ensure issues are resolved. You will also process all payment modes, vouchers, paid-outs, and charges; balance receipts; and count and secure the bank at the start and end of the shift. Manual authorizations must be obtained when needed, accounting procedures must be followed carefully, and any theft-related guest report must be escalated to Loss Prevention or Security.
In addition, this role supports team leadership by helping train, coach, evaluate, motivate, and counsel employees when required. You are expected to model the company’s service standards, maintain strong working relationships, help the team work toward shared goals, and handle employee concerns appropriately. The position also requires strict adherence to company policies, safety practices, confidentiality expectations, professional grooming, and protection of company assets.
Guest service is central to the job: greeting visitors warmly, anticipating needs, assisting guests with disabilities, communicating with professionalism, and responding accurately to written and verbal communication. You should also use computers and POS systems efficiently, maintain quality standards, and be prepared to perform additional duties assigned by supervisors.
