Advanced Formwork Co. Ltd., the distributor and service provider for Doka products in Saudi Arabia, is expanding its operations and looking for a senior professional to strengthen its engineering function. Role Summary

The Engineering Manager will lead the engineering function in Riyadh and report to the Head of Engineering. This leadership position is responsible for guiding engineering teams, delivering safe and practical formwork solutions, and supporting complex projects across the Kingdom. The role requires a balance of technical depth, people leadership, commercial understanding, and the ability to manage several projects at the same time.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned engineering leader who is comfortable working in a multicultural Middle East environment, confident in customer-facing settings, and capable of driving technical excellence, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. Strong English communication is required, while Arabic is considered an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct, support, and inspire engineering teams working across multiple projects.
• Develop economical and practical formwork solutions aligned with team and business goals.
• Encourage learning, knowledge exchange, and engineering training for project teams and staff.
• Track project deadlines and milestones to ensure timely delivery of engineering outputs.
• Prepare, check, and approve formwork designs, material schedules, offer drawings, and shop drawings.
• Carry out and review advanced structural calculations and verification work.
• Ensure all solutions are safe, workable, and cost-efficient.
• Resolve complex technical and site-related engineering issues.
• Coordinate technical work with Project Managers, Site Teams, and Formwork Instructors.
• Support the Sales Team with technical advice, customer meetings, presentations, and site assistance.
• Lead discussions with customers through meetings, workshops, and site visits to explain proposals and clarify technical requirements.
• Coordinate engineering staffing and resource allocation with the Head of Engineering for the country.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, engineering standards, and performance expectations.
• Monitor contractual, legal, and safety obligations across projects.
• Promote consistent use of engineering best practices throughout the business.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Substantial background in the formwork engineering sector, ideally gained in Saudi Arabia or the wider Middle East.
• Demonstrated success leading engineering teams in multi-project environments.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar management role, including leadership of an engineering function in the formwork industry.
• Strong understanding of formwork systems and core engineering principles.
• Working knowledge of CAD tools for 2D and 3D design, along with project management software.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Sharp analytical skills and close attention to detail.
• Commercially minded with a focus on results.
• Preparedness to travel when business needs require it.
