Role Overview
BURNCO is seeking a full-time Dispatcher/Batcher for its Saskatoon Ready Mix operation. This is an hourly position in a very fast-moving setting, and the work may include weekend coverage and overtime. The role is suited to someone who can manage orders, dispatching, and batching, or who is ready to be trained in these tasks.

Key Responsibilities
- Issue tickets to batch plants so trucks can be loaded
- Help drivers find job locations using a solid understanding of Saskatoon and the surrounding area
- Reach out to customers when concrete deliveries are running behind schedule
- Handle incoming customer calls for new orders and order changes
- Resolve questions, concerns, and service issues promptly
- Coordinate closely with sales staff, batchers, quality assurance, and mechanics
- Prepare quotes and manage daily COD transactions and payments
- Organize driver schedules for an average fleet of 15 trucks so plant time is used efficiently
- Carry out order entry, dispatching, and batching, or be willing to learn these processes
Qualifications
- High school diploma or post-secondary education
- Prior dispatching experience in concrete or a similar field is preferred
- Good understanding of concrete technology, mix designs, and value-added products
- Ability to safeguard confidential information related to proprietary mix designs and contract pricing
- Working knowledge of safety and environmental rules, Ministry of Transport requirements, and company policies and procedures
- Strong communication skills with a track record of effective written and verbal customer service
- Comfortable handling complaints in a professional and respectful way
- Professional phone manner
- Self-motivated with a dependable work style
- Strong numerical and problem-solving ability
- Well organized, sound in decision-making, and able to perform well in a busy environment
- Positive team player who can build effective working relationships with staff, officials, agencies, and the public
- Able to work under pressure and adapt to shifting deadlines and conditions
- Must be open to flexible scheduling, including Saturdays and overtime
- Basic computer knowledge, including Excel, Word, Outlook, internet use, and the ability to learn custom software
