About the Role

RIOS is a global design collective focused on creating thoughtful work for the built environment. The studio approaches design as an optimistic force that can reshape places and experiences through architecture, placemaking, landscape architecture, and experience design. Its process starts with understanding the project context and program, then building a strong concept that guides form, function, and user experience. From there, the team explores ecology, materials, sustainability, and tectonic expression to deliver bold, inclusive, and interdisciplinary design solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute across the full project lifecycle, including design development, visualization, documentation, sustainability integration, and technical delivery.
• Handle assigned project tasks independently, such as modeling, documentation, presentations, and visualization, with limited supervision.
• Create design and technical outputs that meet project scope, timeline, budget, and quality expectations.
• Prepare accurate and well-coordinated drawings, models, and deliverables while following strong quality assurance and quality control practices.
• Carry out research, precedent analysis, sustainability studies, and early technical investigations with support from senior team members.
• Use collaboration, project management, and documentation tools effectively to help move projects forward.
• Take part in interdisciplinary design critiques, coordination meetings, and collaborative problem-solving sessions.
• Support project teams with advanced modeling, rendering, documentation, and presentation materials.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in architecture or a related project delivery role.
• Background in working with consultants and cross-disciplinary project teams.
• Proficiency with Revit, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, along with other production and visualization tools used in the discipline.
• Prior exposure to Lumion, Grasshopper, Dynamo, SignAgent, or similar advanced design tools is preferred.
• Strong design judgment and the ability to turn ideas into well-resolved solutions.
• Comfort working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent organization, time management, coordination, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities while preserving accuracy, detail, and quality.
• Commitment to sustainable, responsible, and inclusive design practices.
• Capability to guide and support the development of junior team members.

Work Model

This position follows a hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office. The location listed for the role is Los Angeles, CA.
