Role Overview
In this position, you will create precise drawings, design outputs, and project documentation for a variety of EPEC Group projects. The role requires strong technical accuracy, compliance with relevant standards, and the ability to deliver work within project and client timelines.
You will partner with engineers and project teams to help plan, coordinate, and execute work effectively.
Core Responsibilities
Technical Design and Delivery
- Carry out detailed drafting and design work in line with technical requirements and applicable standards.
- Develop layouts, sectional views, and detailed design drawings.
- Support engineering work with design calculations, cost-related inputs, and project documentation.
- Prepare reports, plans, and other documents needed for project completion.
- Generate accurate CAD drawings using software such as AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- Maintain a high level of precision and attention to detail in all deliverables.
- Attend site inspections and surveys to collect information and confirm design assumptions.
- Produce as-built drawings using site observations and gathered data.
- Deliver outputs on schedule and to a strong quality standard.
- Keep up to date with CAD tools, methods, and current industry practice.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with engineers and the wider project team.
- Make sure documentation supports project goals and engineering requirements.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders to preserve accuracy and consistency.
- Help maintain smooth coordination and workflow across projects.
Team Contribution
- Provide drafting support across multiple project teams.
- Help foster a cooperative, positive, and high-performing team culture.

About You
Essential requirements
- A Degree, Diploma, or Certificate IV in Engineering, Drafting, or a similar field.
- At least 3 years of experience in civil and/or electrical drafting or design.
- Strong capability with CAD software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or an equivalent platform.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of relevant design standards, codes, and regulations.
- A current Class C driver’s licence.
Desirable background
- Experience in the engineering or infrastructure sector.
- Exposure to renewable energy or utilities projects.
