Overview
Boots Ireland is hiring a Customer Assistant for its Carlow, County Carlow store. This position is a strong fit for someone starting their first job and wanting to build practical experience, as well as for candidates with retail experience who are ready for a fresh challenge. The role is based onsite and reports to the Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager.
What you will do
You may support the shop floor, tills, or back room operations depending on store needs. The role is focused on delivering friendly, helpful service and keeping the store running efficiently.
- Assist customers in a welcoming way by listening to their needs, answering questions, offering product guidance, suggesting suitable items, and helping with small touches such as providing a basket.
- Learn about in-store promotions and schemes and actively share that information with customers.
- Support smooth store operations by making sure shelves are well stocked and correctly displayed, serving customers at the tills, and helping manage stock in the stockroom.
- Work closely with the wider team to create an excellent shopping experience and keep the store clean, tidy, and well presented.
What you need
Full training is provided, so the company is mainly looking for people with the right attitude and personal strengths.
- Comfort working in a busy environment and keeping pace with changing tasks.
- Clear communication and active listening skills.
- A team-focused approach and willingness to contribute to a collaborative environment.
- An understanding that small gestures can significantly improve customer interactions.

Desirable experience
Previous customer service or care experience would be helpful, but it is not required.
